4th Grade Reading Prep 3.0.2

The 4th Grade Reading Prep app is a comprehensive tool for improving reading comprehension skills. Designed with both classrooms and individual students in mind, it offers a collection of 20 original stories that have been specifically written for this app. Whether you prefer fiction, non-fiction, or a mix of both, this app allows you to choose your preferred genre. After reading the passages, you can test your comprehension by answering a variety of questions. This app is flexible in terms of where and when you want to study, allowing you to learn at your own pace. Each passage and question set can be completed in approximately 5-8 minutes.

The content in the app has been carefully selected to be appropriate for 4th graders and is aligned with the Common Core State Standards (CCSS). It helps students develop vital skills like determining the main idea of a text, explaining events or concepts based on specific information in the text, understanding academic and domain-specific words, and reading with accuracy and fluency.

Teachers will find this app particularly useful as it works well during independent study time and allows them to assign stories and question sets as activities in Apple's Schoolwork app. They can also monitor student progress by reviewing their scores and tracking improvement in the password-protected administrator section. Test results can be shared with parents via email.

User feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with teachers praising the app for its highlighting feature that shows where the answer is located in the passage. They appreciate that it challenges students to think critically rather than providing easy answers. Students themselves have also found great value in this app, reporting improved reading skills and increased grades.

Additional classroom features include the ability to enter as many student names as needed, allowing students to choose specific stories from the table of contents, and the option for administrators to email specific test results or a recap of a student's overall progress.

Non-fiction topics covered in this app include The Appalachian Trail, Christa McAuliffe and the Challenger Disaster, The History of Video Games, The Life of Anne Frank, The Life of Martin Luther King, The Middle Ages, Nutrition and You, Pioneers in America, The Titanic, and Working in a Hospital.
